Warning Beacon is a steel sculptural chime that was inspired by the floating marine warning bells that are placed in harbors and waterways to warn mariners of danger. In a twist to a marine bell, the sculpture's tall spire-like shape and bell are designed to draw pedestrians towards Warning Beacon where a "placard" inset into the front of the bell has stainless steel letters projecting from its surface offering a warning to pedestrians. This quote might be considered a bit of a mystery and was probably meant for us to reflect upon its meaning versus giving us direct guidance.
