Modern Adirondack
I was asked to commission a chair for a client using the skis she had used over the past 20 years of her life. I designed a piece that departs from the classic ski Adirondack by incorporating a concrete base that was cast into a fabric form thus giving the concrete a lightness that gently grounds the chair. The skis are supported by a single steel spine that plays off the concrete's curves and allows the arms of the chair to float over the seat.
